34th César Awards
The 34th César Awards ceremony was presented by the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma to honour its selection of the best films of 2008 on 27 February 2009. Canal+ broadcast the event, which took place again at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France. The nominations for the Awards were announced on 23 January. The ceremony was chaired by Charlotte Gainsbourg and hosted by Antoine de Caunes. '' Séraphine'' won the award for Best Film. Rémi Bezançon (born 25 March 1971) is a French director and screenwriter. Life and career Rémi Bezançon studied at the École Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle (ESRA) in Paris and the École du Louvre. Laurent Cantet (; born 11 April 1961) is a French director, cinematographer and screenwriter. His film ''Entre les murs'' (''The Class (2008 film), The Class'') won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008. Biography Laurent Cantet was born in 1961 in the town of Melle, Deux-Sèvres in western France; his parents were schoolteachers.
