3rd Utah Senate District
The 3rd Utah Senate District is located in Salt Lake County and includes Utah House Districts 31, 33, 35, 37, 40, 43, 44 and 47. The current State Senator representing the 3rd district is Gene Davis. Davis was first elected to the Utah Senate in 1998, and won his most recent re-election in 2018 with 70% of the vote. Salt Lake County is located in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 1,185,238, making it the most populous county in Utah. Gene Davis (born July 2, 1945) is a Democratic member of the Utah Senate, representing the 3rd Districtmap) since 1999. Personal life, education, and career Davis graduated from South High School. He then received his Bachelor of Laws from LaSalle Extension University and his Radio Operational Engineering (Electrical Engineering) degree. He worked in public relations and advertising. Davis went to high school where he meet his future wife Penny. They wedded in 1971 and were married for 45 years before Penny's passing in 2015. They have two children and six grandchildren.
