Katarína Knechtová
Katarína Knechtová (born March 14, 1981) is a Slovak singer-songwriter and guitarist, originally known for her work with the band Peha. Biography Katarína was born in Prešov, to a Czech mother and Slovak father. In Prešov she attended the Ján Adam Raymann Gymnasium. After finishing school, she studied philosophy. For seven years she studied to play keyboard, she is also a self-taught guitarist. She started her music career in local band named ''Prešovčatá''. Katarína has a younger sister, Veronika. Music career Katarína Knechtová debuted on the Slovak music scene in 1996 in the band IMT Smile led by Ivan Tásler. One year later she left the band with drummer and moved to Peha band, which was later in 1999 called the revelation of a year in Slovakia. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is the organisation that represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide. It is a non-profit members' organisation registered in Switzerland and founded in Italy in 1933 by Francesco Braga. Dara Rolins
Dara Rolins (born 7 December 1972) is a Slovak recording artist and entrepreneur. Her music career began at the age of nine, after being cast in the television musical ''Zázračný autobus'' (1981). The early role established a formula for her regular assignments as a child singer, who had no trouble hitting note B6 and possibly above (in the TV series song Strasidla ("Spooks") to a Juraj Jakubisko's TV series Frankenstein's Aunt), and resulted in recording her debut album ''Keby som bola princezná Arabela'' (1983) on OPUS Records. Elán (band)
Elán is a Slovak pop rock band founded in 1968 by elementary school classmates Jožo Ráž, Vašo Patejdl, Juraj Farkaš, and Zdeno Baláž. They became one of the most popular Czechoslovak bands during the 1980s, releasing ten successful albums between 1981 and 1991. In 1993, the group represented Slovakia in the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest but having finished in fourth place, failed to qualify for the finals in Ireland. Elán performed at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec, Czech Republic, as part of the championship's entertainment festivities. The band has toured internationally throughout their career. Richard Müller (singer)
Richard Müller (born 6 September 1961) is a Slovak singer, songwriter, and occasional actor. He is one of the most successful singers in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where he has sold more than one million records. Biography He started as a music journalist. In the beginning of the 1980s, while studying the theory of drama and screenplay at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), he started writing for the daily paper and the only specialized periodical at the time, ''Popular'', and, later, for ''Gramorevue''. As a journalist, in his own words, he could get close to the musicians he admired easier. His first song, ''Radio'', was recorded with the Burčiak Pavla Daněka band. No Name (Slovak Band)
No Name is a Slovak rock band. It was formed in Košice on 26 August 1996 by Viliam Gutray and three Timko brothers - Igor, Roman, and Ivan. Marián Čekovský joined No Name as a keyboardist and was replaced by Zoli Šallai after leaving the band. A few years later, the youngest Timko brother, Dušan, also became a member of No Name. No Name became known to Slovak audiences in part by playing the Bratislavská lýra festival , but their came with their second album, ''Počkám si na zázrak'' (I'll Wait for a Miracle), which featured the hit singles "Ty a Tvoja sestra" (You and Your Sister) and "Žily" (Veins).
