Gold 104.3 is part of the Pure Gold Network (which itself is a part of the Australian Radio Network) and broadcasts on the 104.3 MHz frequency. History 3KZ 3KZ commenced operations on 8 December 1930. The radio station was initiated by the Industrial Printing and Publicity Group as a means of spreading its message, and in the station's early years, it was broadcast from the Victorian Trades Hall. Its original frequency was 1350 kHz, moving to 1180 kHz on 1 September 1935. The frequency changed again on 23 November 1978 to 1179 kHz when all Australian AM radio stations were assigned new frequencies as part of the new 9 kHz spacing plan implemented. 3KZ was, along with 3DB, one of the "old guard" of Melbourne radio. 3DB was a Melbourne-based radio station that opened in 1927, changed its name to 3TT in 1988, and now operates on the FM band as KIIS 101.1. 3DB was one of Melbourne's most popular radio stations, topping the ratings for many decades.Jones, Colin, ''Something in the Air: A History of Radio in Australia'', Kangaroo Press, 1995. ''Radio Times'', originally known as ''Radioprogram'', was a weekly Melbourne radio program guide established in Melbourne, Australia in 1934. In the late 1930s it changed its name to ''Radio Times''. ''Radioprogram'' The first edition of ''Radioprogram'' was issued in July 1934. It covered the weekly programs for Melbourne's six major radio stations ( 3AR, 3LO, 3UZ, 3DB, 3KZ and 3AW) for the week 14–20 July. The programs for ''Cinderella'' station 3AK, which mainly broadcast in the early hours of the morning when other Melbourne stations were closed, were not included in early editions. ''Radioprogram'' displayed a dark brown cover with details of the magazine in white print. The first edition did not have any front-cover illustration, but later editions did. Fox FM (call sign: 3FOX) is a commercial FM radio station broadcasting in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on a frequency of 101.9 MHz, and is the flagship station on Southern Cross Austereo's Hit Network. The station's transmitter is shared with the ATV-10 transmitter on top of Mount Dandenong. History Fox FM started life at 5PM on 1 August 1980. The station was put together by radio consultant and 1960s/1970s radio personality and programmer Rhett H. Walker, who also acted as first General Manager. Victorian Trades Hall is the headquarters of the Victorian Trades Hall Council. It is located on the corner of Lygon Street and Victoria Street, just north of the Melbourne central business district, in the suburb of Carlton, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is the world's oldest trade union building. History In 1856 the Melbourne Trades Hall Committee was formed and received a grant of land from premier John O'Shanassy to build the Melbourne Trades Hall.
