39th Filmfare Awards
The 39th Filmfare Awards were held in 1994. ''Khalnayak'' led the ceremony with 11 nominations, followed by ''Baazigar'' and ''Darr'' with 10 nominations each. ''Baazigar'' and ''Damini'' were the most awarded films with 4 awards each, with the former winning Best Actor (for Shah Rukh Khan), and the latter winning Best Director (for Rajkumar Santoshi) and Best Supporting Actor (for Sunny Deol). Shah Rukh Khan won his first Best Actor award for his role in ''Baazigar''. He also won Best Actor (Critics) for ''Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa'' and was nominated for Best Villain for his role in Yash Chopra's ''Darr'', rounding off a spectacular year for him. Juhi Chawla received dual nominations for Best Actress for her performances in ''Darr'' and ''Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke'', winning for the latter, her first and only win in the category. The Indian Express
''The Indian Express'' is an English-language Indian daily newspaper founded in 1932. It is published in Mumbai by the Indian Express Group. In 1999, eight years after the group's founder Ramnath Goenka's death in 1991, the group was split between the family members. The southern editions took the name ''The New Indian Express'', while the northern editions, based in Mumbai, retained the original ''Indian Express'' name with ''"The"'' prefixed to the title. Yash Chopra
Yash Raj Chopra (27 September 1932 21 October 2012) was an Indian people, Indian film director and film producer who worked in Bollywood, Hindi cinema. The founding chairman of the film production and distribution company Yash Raj Films, Chopra was the recipient of several awards, including 6 National Film Awards and 8 Filmfare Awards. He is considered among the best Indian filmmakers. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honoured him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2001, and the Padma Bhushan in 2005. Mahesh Bhatt
Mahesh Bhatt (born 20 September 1948) is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter known for his works in Hindi cinema. A stand-out film from his earlier period is ''Saaransh'' (1984), screened at the 14th Moscow International Film Festival. It became India's official entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for that year. The 1986 film '' Naam'' was his first piece of commercial cinema. ''Aankhen'' () is a 1993 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by David Dhawan and written by Anees Bazmee. It stars Govinda in a dual role and Chunky Pandey. Kundan Shah (19 October 1947 – 7 October 2017), was an Indian film director and writer. He is known for his comedy classic ''Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro'' (1983) and his 1986–1987, TV series ''Nukkad'' with Saeed Akhtar Mirza. Biography Kundan Shah was born in a Gujarati family. Shah studied direction at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune and he developed an interest in the comedy genre. His directorial debut was the comedy film ''Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro'' (aka Who Pays the Piper) in 1983. He also was the co-writer of the film, with Satish Kaushik.
