The 37th Łęczyca Infantry Regiment of Polish Armed Forces (Second Polish Republic), Polish Armed Forces, named after Prince Józef Poniatowski, was a military unit that traced its heritage to the . Its origins date back to November 1918 in Przemyśl, and it officially became the 37th Infantry Regiment on 25 February 1919. From 1920 to 1937, it was known as the 37th Łęczyca Infantry Regiment. During the Polish–Ukrainian War, the regiment fought to open the route to the besieged Lviv, capturing Horodok, Lviv Oblast, Horodok and later participating in the battles for Sambir, Drohobych, and Ivano-Frankivsk, Stanyslaviv, as well as actions along the Dniester and Zbruch rivers. In the Polish–Soviet War, it engaged in battles under Korosten, Koziatyn, and Żukowiec, and fought on the Berezina, Neman, and Bug (river), Bug rivers. 4th Infantry Division (Poland)
The Polish 4th Infantry Division (''Polish: 4. Dywizja Piechoty'') was created following Polish independence after the end of World War I. The division participated in the Polish–Ukrainian War in 1919. During World War II, the division existed as three wholly separate organizations, the original incarnation of the division as part of the pre-war Polish Army, the second incarnation armed and equipped by the western Allies, and another division armed and equipped and controlled by the Soviet Union. The second and third incarnations of this division existed simultaneously from 1944 until 1947.
