''37 ohne Zwiebeln'' () is a German short film directed by André Erkau. The film premiered at the 2006 Max Ophüls Preis film festival and is also the director's final thesis at the Cologne Academy of Media Arts. Plot Lukas Knispe's childhood dream was to become a diver, he loved the slowness and stillness underwater. Now, at 37, he is the sales manager of a sizeable business, and his work is anything but slow and still. So far this has not been a problem for Lukas Knispe, as opposed to the jumps, gaps and lapses in time which have been troubling him for some time now. For example, Lukas Knispe skids from the canteen into the conference room without knowing how he turned up there. Or he learns nothing from a discussion in the conference room because moments later he finds himself back in the office. André Erkau
André Erkau (born 1968) is a German film director and screenwriter. Life and work Born in Dortmund, Erkau grew up in Bremen. After he completed his actor's training, he worked for theatre and TV. In 2001, he began to study film direction at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. He finished his study in 2005 with his diploma-movie ''37 ohne Zwiebeln''. This short film won more than twenty film awards and was in 2006 one of Germany's most successful short films. His first cine film, ''Come In and Burn Out'', also received awards. Mohammad Farokhmanesh ( fa, محمد فرخ‌منش; born 1971 in Shiraz) is a Gerd Ruge-Prize winning Iranian film director, scriptwriter and producer, residing in Germany. Career Mohammad Farokhmanesh, born 1971 in Shiraz, (Iran) started making his first short films during his education at the “Iranian Young Cinema Society”. In the years 1995-2001 he gained a University Degree in filmmaking at the Hochschule für bildende Künste (University of Fine Arts Hamburg), after the completion of which he worked two years as a film production consultant.
