35th GLAAD Media Awards
The 35th GLAAD Media Awards was the 2024 annual presentation of the GLAAD Media Awards by GLAAD honoring 2023 films, television shows, video games, musicians and works of journalism that fairly, accurately and inclusively represent the LGBT community and issues relevant to the community. As in previous years, the awards was presented in two groups at two separate ceremonies. For this awards edition, the first took place on March 14, 2024, in Beverly Hills, California, while the second took place on May 11, 2024, in New York City. Special recognition will be given to ''Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce'', ''The Dads'', ''Enamorándonos,'' '' Drag Latina'' and '' Wendy, perdida pero famosa.'' The Beverly Hilton is a hotel located on an property at the intersection of Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards in Beverly Hills, California. The Beverly Hilton has hosted many awards shows, charity benefits, and entertainment and motion picture industry events, and is particularly known as the venue of the annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony. History Conrad Hilton opened the Beverly Hilton in 1955. American architect Welton Becket designed the hotel as a showpiece with 582 rooms. ''The Color Purple'' is an upcoming American musical coming-of-age period drama film directed by Blitz Bazawule from a screenplay by Marcus Gardley, based on the stage musical of the same name, which in turn is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Alice Walker.
