''342'' is the second studio album by French avant-garde metal band Pin-Up Went Down, released on 28 June 2010 through Ascendance Records. It is the first album of the band which counted with the participation of Alexis Damien's brother, Nicolas Damien. The title of the track "Vaginaal Nathrakh" is a pun on the name of British extreme metal band Anaal Nathrakh, while "Murphy in the Sky with Dæmons" may be a possible allusion to The Beatles' song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". Judging by the song's lyrics, the "Murphy" mentioned in the song's title is Edward A. Murphy, famous for popularizing the concept of " Murphy's law". Pin-Up Went Down
Pin-Up Went Down is a French experimental band. Although their music is mostly referred to as avant-garde metal, they describe themselves as "an experimental band blending art rock, metal, avant-garde, and pop." Pin-Up Went Down was formed as a one-man project by Alexis Damien in Rouen in 2006, who then added more members. History Pin-Up Went Down was formed in 2006, initially as a one-man project by former Carnival in Coal and Wormfood member Alexis Damien and bearing the name Esthete Piggie. Damien was later joined by singer, writer and photographer Aurélie "Asphodel" Raidron, who had also sung for other projects such as gothic metal band Penumbra, Howdy Effect and Nowonmai, and the band changed its name to the current one later on. The Third and the Mortal were a Norwegian metal band from Trondheim, founded in 1992. The band started out as doom metal, mixing distorted guitars and heavy drumming with clean guitars and vocals from Kari Rueslåtten. The band went on to experiment with genres such as progressive rock, jazz, ambient, folk and electronica. Carnival in Coal is an extreme metal/ avant-garde metal band from France. Founded in 1995, the band mixed death metal, black metal and other extreme metal genres with genres such as easy listening, disco, and pop. History Originally, Carnival In Coal signed to and released their debut album through the now-defunct French indie label War On Majors Records. The band then released two albums through another French based independent Metal label, Season of Mist, and later signed a multi-album deal to Earache Records and their Elitist Records sub-label. The only album to come from this deal was 2005's Collection Prestige. The band played its first live show in April 2006 at the Killer Fest in Chaulnes, France, and then went on to play several dates across Europe, including festivals like Hellfest Summer Open Air in France and Brutal Assault in Czech Republic. The sarabande (from es, zarabanda) is a dance in triple metre, or the music written for such a dance. History The Sarabande evolved from a Spanish dance with Arab influences, danced by a lively double line of couples with castanets. A dance called ''zarabanda'' is first mentioned in 1539 in Central America in the poem ''Vida y tiempo de Maricastaña'', written in Panama by Fernando de Guzmán Mejía. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds
"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 album '' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band''. It was written primarily by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon–McCartney songwriting partnership. Lennon's son Julian inspired the song with a nursery school drawing that he called "Lucy – in the sky with diamonds". Shortly before the album's release, speculation arose that the first letter of each of the nouns in the title intentionally spelled "LSD", the initialism commonly used for the hallucinogenic drug lysergic acid diethylamide. Lennon repeatedly denied that he had intended it as a drug song, and attributed the song's fantastical imagery to his reading of Lewis Carroll's '' Alice in Wonderland'' books.
