The 327th Infantry Division (german: 327. Infanterie-Division) was an infantry division of the German Heer during World War II. History The 327th Infantry Division was active from 1940 to 1943. The 327th Infantry Division was formed as an infantry division of the thirteenth '' Aufstellungswelle'' on 15 November 1940. The division was assembled in Wehrkreis XVII (Vienna) from seven infantry battalions of the seventh ''Aufstellungswelle'' as well as two infantry battalions of the eighth ''Aufstellungswelle''. These battalions were taken from the 183rd, 198th, and 297th Infantry Divisions. The 327th Infantry Division was initially formed from four regiments, including the Infantry Regiments 595, 596, and 597, as well as the Artillery Regiment 397. The XXVII Corps (german: XXVII. Armeekorps, or ''XXVII.AK'') was an infantry corps in the German army. It fought in several notable actions during World War II. Rudolf Heinrich Friedrich (; 4 July 1923 – 15 October 2013) was a Swiss attorney and politician. He served as a member of the Federal Council (Switzerland) for the Free Democratic Party from 1982 to 1984, where he held the position as Head of the Federal Department of Justice and Police. Theodor Fischer (28 May 1862 – 25 December 1938) was a German architect and teacher. Career Fischer planned public housing projects for the city of Munich beginning in 1893.
