327th Airlift Squadron
The 327th Airlift Squadron (327 AS) is a United States Air Force Reserve squadron, assigned to the 913th Airlift Group at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. It operates C-130J aircraft supporting the United States Air Force global reach mission worldwide. History Origins Constituted 2nd Combat Cargo Squadron on 11 Apr 1944. Activated on 15 Apr 1944. The 327th conducted aerial transportation in the China – Burma – India theater from, 28 August 1944 – c. 20 October 1945. Redesignated 327th Troop Carrier Squadron on 31 Oct 1945. Inactivated on 26 Dec 1945. Activated an air force reserve unit on 29 May 1947. Ordered to active service on 28 Oct 1962 until 28 Nov 1962. It performed troop carrier training from, 1947 – 1951. Hathazari Airfield
Hathazari Airfield is a former wartime United States Army Air Forces airfield in Bangladesh that was used during the Burma Campaign of 1944. It is no longer in use. History The airfield was located near the railhead on the main railroad line to Chittagong. It was used by the 1st Combat Cargo Group as a supply point and staging airfield for resupply airlift drops over Burma from May 1945 until June 1945. It was also used by the 128th Army Communications System Squadron as a radio relay station. Other Douglas C-47 Skytrain and Curtiss C-46 Commando-equipped transport units used the airfield until it closed in September 1945. Dohazari Airfield is a former wartime United States Army Air Forces airfield near Dohazari in Bangladesh used during the Burma Campaign 1944-1945. It is now abandoned. History Dohazari was used by the USAAF Tenth Air Force 1st Combat Cargo Group as a supply point for aerial resupply drops over Burma between 30 January and 15 May 1945. Tsuyung Airfield (楚雄机场) is a former World War II United States Army Air Forces airfield from 1941 to 1945 in Chuxiong County, Yunnan Province, China. As the town urbanized, it found itself right at the town center and got demolished. Its current site became the Chuxiong Post Bureau's main building, at the junction of Lucheng East Road and Lucheng North Road. No remnants of its wartime past could be found there. There was a separate Old Tsuyung Airfield built in 1928, which was replaced by the new Tsuyung Airfield which started construction in October 1938 to deal with the increasing demand of "the Hump". Bowman Field is a public airport southeast of downtown Louisville, in Jefferson County, Kentucky. The airport covers and has two runways. The FAA calls it a reliever airport for nearby Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
