''300 Lésions'' is a 2004 album recorded by French pop-rock act Kyo. It was released on December 28, 2004, and achieved huge success in France, Belgium (Wallonia) and Switzerland, where it was respectively #1, #1 and #2. This album, entirely composed by the band, is its third album overall and remains to date its second most successful one. It provided two singles : "Contact" (#8 in France, #11 in Belgium, #37 in Switzerland) and "Sarah" (#33 in France, #31 in Belgium, #65 in Switzerland).The single "Contact" is featured on the videogame FIFA 06. The lyrics, mainly written by Benoît Poher, are more gloomy than on band's previous albums (e.g. "Ce soir" ou "L'Enfer"), with much of the music stripping back the pop elements and leaning more into the band's alternative rock influences, which would later be further expanded on in Poher and Florian's project Empyr. Kyo (band)
Kyo is a French rock band with lead by Benoît Poher. The band was active from 1997 to 2005 with three albums ''Kyo'' (2000), '' Le Chemin'' (2003) and ''300 Lésions'' (2004) and a string of singles. It announced a hiatus in 2005 without a definite break-up. In 2006, Kyo was involved in launching " L'Or de nos vies" written by Kyo and its lead singer Benoît Poher for the Fighting AIDS charity in 2006. Kyo had a comeback in 2013 with the album ''L'équilibre''. Benoît Poher
Benoît "Ben" Poher (born 27 June 1979) is a French singer, songwriter and lyricist. He is the lead singer of French rock band Kyo and was the lead singer in the supergroup Empyr. Early life Poher was born in Mantes-la-Jolie, Yvelines, in the western suburbs of Paris to musician parents. He pursued a musical life while at Ensemble scolaire Notre-Dame "Les Oiseaux" (a French junior high school). In Kyo While studying at Notre-Dame "Les Oiseaux" in 1994, Poher met the brothers Fabien and Florian Dubois, and Nicolas Chassagne. They formed a rock band later known as Kyo in 1997. Originally Benoît was a bass player in the band before taking over as lead vocals because of his powerful voice. The band continued practicing and performing and in 2000 released an independent self-titled album ''Kyo''. Empyr
Empyr is a French English-language rock band established in 2007 and made up of five members of four different French bands, Kyo, Pleymo, Watcha, and Vegastar. History In 2008, the band released its debut album ''The Peaceful Riot'' that was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Ken Andrews. The album, which combined elements of Kyo's pop rock with the other members' alternative metal backgrounds, was relatively successful reaching number 17 in France and number 20 in Belgian French charts. It also charted in Switzerland. The single "New Day" also got radio time. The band has also released a follow-up EP ''Your Skin, My Skin'' in 2009, and the album ''Unicorn'' in 2011, moving further into the pop rock sound of Kyo on the latter release.
