2nd Prince
2nd Prince was an electoral district in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, which elected two members to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1873 to 1993. The district comprised the western central portion of Prince County, the portion which lay between Malpeque Bay and Egmont Bay. It was abolished in 1996. Prince County, Prince Edward Island
Prince County is located in western Prince Edward Island, Canada. The county's defining geographic feature is Malpeque Bay, a sub-basin of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, which creates the narrowest portion of Prince Edward Island's landmass, an isthmus upon which the city of Summerside is located. The geographic division created by Malpeque Bay is informally augmented by a socio-economic division between the more urban East Prince and rural West Prince, although the line of division generally varies. Much of Prince Edward Island's industrial base is concentrated in the eastern part of the county, with three large frozen French fry manufacturing plants, a potato chip manufacturing plant, and an aerospace industry located at a former air force base. Albert Charles Saunders
Albert Charles Saunders (October 12, 1874 – October 18, 1943) was a Canadian politician and jurist from Prince Edward Island. Saunders served as mayor of Summerside for four terms. He was first elected to the provincial legislature in 1919 and became leader of the opposition Liberal Party in 1923. He led the Liberals to victory in the 1927 election by supporting the continuation of total prohibition against the Conservative government's proposals to ease the temperance measure. The Saunders government revised the curriculum of the public school system, raised the salaries of teachers and improved the island's roads. John Richards (Canadian Politician)
John Richards (October 4, 1857 – March 8, 1917) was a farmer and political figure on Prince Edward Island. He represented 2nd Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1908 to 1915 as a Liberal. He was born in Port Hill, Prince Edward Island, the son of Captain William Richards and Susan Yeo, and was educated at Saint Dunstan's College and King's College. In 1884, Richards married Alice Broad. He served in the province's Executive Council as provincial secretary and Commissioner of Agriculture. Richards was leader of the opposition from 1912 to 1915. He died during a visit to Los Angeles, California at the age of 59.
