2nd Commando Battalion (Bangladesh)
The Para Commando Brigade ( bn, :bn:প্যারা কমান্ডো ব্রিগেড (বাংলাদেশ), প্যারা কমান্ডো ব্রিগেড) is a special forces, special operations force of the Bangladesh Army. This special forces brigade is headquartered at Sylhet and is composed of two Para Commando battalions. The involvement of special operations units in Bangladesh Armed Forces was initiated by the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. From 1974, commando units were existed in Bangladesh Army under various names, mostly in the form of specialist of jungle warfare and counterinsurgency units. A separate special operations capable unit of the Bangladesh Army was first officially formed on 30 June 1992 as the ''1st Para Commando Battalion'', which is the first modern special force of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The leopard (''Panthera pardus'') is one of the five extant species in the genus '' Panthera'', a member of the cat family, Felidae.
