XLFM (formerly 2XL) is an Australian radio station serving the Cooma region owned by Capital Radio Network. It was opened in August 1937. The station was originally broadcasting from Cooma on 918 kHz AM under the callsign '2XL' before undergoing an FM conversion in 2019. Coinciding with the move to FM, 2XL re-branded to XLFM. XLFM is a part of the regional 'Forever Classic' network of Capital Radio Network Stations and acts as its programming hub. Transmitter and studios XLFM has numerous transmitter locations repeating the broadcast on 96.1 FM. The repeater transmitters are found in Jindabyne, Thredbo, Charlotte Pass, Perisher Valley & Bombala. The studio location has over the years changed from Cooma to Jindabyne which is its current location of Kosciuszko Road Jindabyne. The Jindabyne studios are shared with its sister station Snow FM. Cooma is a town in the south of New South Wales, Australia. It is located south of the national capital, Canberra, via the Monaro Highway. It is also on the Snowy Mountains Highway, connecting Bega with the Riverina. At the , Cooma had a population of 6,742. Cooma is the main town of the Monaro region. It is above sea level. The name could have derived from an Aboriginal word ''Coombah'', meaning 'big lake' or 'open country'. Cooma is south of the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, a main tributary of the Murray–Darling basin. Cooma sources its water from the river. Capital Radio Network is an Australian radio company, which owns stations in Canberra, Goulburn, Cooma, the Snowy Mountains, Gippsland and Perth. The company is a subsidiary of Blyton Group, with Kevin James Blyton as managing director for both. Jindabyne
Jindabyne () is a town in south-east New South Wales, Australia that overlooks Lake Jindabyne near the Snowy Mountains, in Snowy Monaro Regional Council. It is a popular holiday destination year round, especially in winter. This is due to its proximity to major ski resort developments within the Kosciuszko National Park, including Thredbo, Perisher and Charlotte Pass. 97.7 Snow FM (call sign: 2SKI) is a commercial radio station in New South Wales, covering the areas of Cooma, Jindabyne, Thredbo, Perisher Ski Resort, Perisher and Charlotte Pass. The station broadcasts on multiple frequencies to reach the townships within the Snowy Mountains region. Snow FM is a part of the Capital Radio Network.
