2SER
2SER is a community radio station in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, broadcasting on the frequency 107.3 FM and is a member of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia. The station is largely self-supporting, relying upon revenue raised through programming, sponsorship, fund-raising events and membership. Their studios are located in Ultimo and Macquarie, Sydney. The station has a metro-wide licence and broadcasts a mix of programming styles - specialist music, general magazine and specialist talks. It currently broadcasts 15 talks shows covering topics such as science, current affairs, health, conservation, publishing, gay culture and theatre. 2SER is also one of few media outlets that has a special program for prisoners, Jailbreak. Steve Albini (pronounced ; born July 22, 1962) is an American musician, record producer, audio engineer and music journalist. He was a member of Big Black, Rapeman and Flour, and is a member of Shellac. He is the founder, owner and principal engineer of Electrical Audio, a recording studio complex in Chicago. In 2018, Albini estimated that he had worked on several thousand albums over his career. He has worked with acts such as Nirvana, Pixies, the Breeders, PJ Harvey, and former Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Steve Ahern
Stephen Roderick Ahern ( OAM) (born 1959), is a media executive, strategist, trainer and international consultant in modern broadcast media. He was the station manager at three Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) radio stations (1988 to mid-1990s), Director of Radio at Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) (1998 to 2009) and CEO of Ahern Media & Training (AMT) (from mid-1990s). Elefant Traks is a record label based in Sydney, Australia, that predominantly releases Australian hip hop music. The label is distributed in Australia by Inertia Distribution. History 1998–2008: Formation, The Herd, Urthboy, Horrorshow Elefant Traks was started in 1998 by Kenny Sabir ( Traksewt); Under Sabir's management, the label's first official compilation album, ''Cursive Writing'', was released, and Sabir briefly explained the process in 2011: "For the first compilation, some of the people on there I had never actually even met at the time of release. Clan Analogue
Clan Analogue is an Australian record label which started in 1992 as a collective by a number of individuals interested and active in electronic music and with a shared passion for analogue synthesisers and digital culture. History Producer, broadcaster, DJ and artist, Brendan Palmer, was the label manager from 1992 to 1995. He helped establish the collective, originally in Sydney, including the Clan Analogue record label and organising performance events. During this period the label released vinyl extended plays, a compilation CD (''Cog'') and cassette tapes. Naomi Mapstone of ''The Canberra Times'' reviewed the fourth EP, which "features live, acts from Canberra and Sydney, playing rave, industrial, garage and hardcore." Julie Elizabeth McCrossin (born 2 October 1954) is an Australian radio broadcaster, journalist, comedian, political commentator and activist for women's rights, women's and gay rights. Robert Buck known as Robbie Buck is an Australian radio announcer. Career Robbie's radio experience began in his home town of Lismore where he took up a late night shift on the local radio station. Once he moved to Sydney he began doing graveyard shifts on community station 2SER, and eventually became a full-time employee for the station. Following this, he spent time at SBS radio and TV as a sound producer. During his time at SBS, he co-hosted ''Alchemy'' which was a late night TV program focused on the electronic music scene. Fenella Kernebone (born 8 June 1976) is an Australian radio and television presenter, MC and interviewer, based in Sydney, with a long record working across the arts, film, music, design, architecture and culture. Kim John Carr (born 2 July 1955) is an Australian former politician who served as a Senator for Victoria between 1993 and 2022. Representing the Labor Party, he was a minister in the Rudd and Gillard Governments.
