The 22nd Bachsas Awards were given by Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity (Bangladesh Cine-Journalists' Association) to outstanding performers of the silver screen, small screen, music, dance and theatre in 1999. Srabon Megher Din
''Srabon Megher Din'' ( bn, শ্রাবণ মেঘের দিন, English: A Day of the Month Srabon) is a Bangladeshi drama film based on the novel of Humayun Ahmed. This movie based on a triangle tragic love story set in a classical village of Bangladesh directed by the writer himself. This film was second film directed by Humayun Ahmed released in 1999 and won National Film Award. British Film Institute enlisted this film in the Top 10 Bangladeshi Film (Critics) as a 2002 cultural project on South Asian cinema in 2002. Plot Moti (Zahid Hasan) is a folk singer in a village and a girl from that village Kusum (Meher Afroz Shaon) fall in love with him, even though she tries to hide it. The story take a turn when Suruj Miah (Mahfuz Ahmed) came in, who is brought by Kusum's father ( Saleh Ahmed) to marry Kusum off with him. But tragedy hits in the end. Zahid Hasan
Zahid Hasan (born 4 October 1965) is a Bangladeshi film, television and stage actor. He has been working as an actor in the show business arena of Bangladesh since the 1990s. He is also a TV commercial model. He was awarded Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film '' Srabon Megher Din'' (1999). Career Hasan was part of a theatre group for several years before moving to television in 1990. He took the lead in the BTV adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore's ''Shomapti'' and the protagonist in ''Bichchhu''. Maksud Jamil Mintu
Samiul Mintu is a Bangladeshi music composer and director. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director for the song "Ekta Chilo Sonar Konya" in the film ''Srabon Megher Din'' (1999). Early life and career Mintoo first played guitar in 1979. In 1982, he began working in film playback songs with Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul. He played the guitar for the background score for the film ''Megh Bijli Badol''. Mintoo first worked as a music director in the film ''Agun Jalo'', directed by Motin Rahman. The film featured the song "Elomelo Batashe", rendered by singer Baby Naznin. He worked as composer and music director in several films by Humayun Ahmed. Humayun Ahmed
Humayun Ahmed (; 13 November 1948 – 19 July 2012) was a Bangladeshi novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and professor. His breakthrough was his debut novel ''Nondito Noroke'' published in 1972. He wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books, many of which were bestsellers in Bangladesh. His books were the top sellers at the Ekushey Book Fair during the 1990s and 2000s. He won the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1981 and the Ekushey Padak in 1994 for his contribution to Bengali literature. In the early 1990s, Ahmed emerged as a filmmaker. He went on to make a total of eight films - each based on his own novels. Bari Siddiqui (15 November 1954 – 24 November 2017) was a Bangladeshi singer-songwriter and flautist. Mahfuzur Rahman Khan
Mahfuzur Rahman Khan, aka, Mahfoozur Rahman Khan (10 May 1949 – 6 December 2019), was a Bangladeshi cinematographer having received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Cinematography a record breaking ten times during his career. Though he was also a film director, actor and producer, he was most famously remembered for working behind the camera in films directed by Humayun Ahmed and other legendary film makers including Shibli Sadik and Alamgir Kumkum. Prachyanat is a theatre group of Bangladesh founded in 1997. Productions In the last twenty five years Prachyanat had fifteen full length productions. Among these, two plays are written by the members of Prachyanat. One play of Prachyanat is a translated version of '' A Man for All Seasons'', by the British playwright Robert Bolt. Bangladesh Cholochchitra Shangbadik Samity (Bangladesh Cine-Journalists' Association) gave out their most prestigious awards to outstanding performers in film, television, music, dance and theatre.
