20 Fingers (film)
''20 Angosht'', released in English-speaking markets as ''20 Fingers'', is a 2004 Iranian film directed by Mania Akbari. It stars the director herself and producer Bijan Daneshmand as a couple (or possibly different couples) discussing their relationship and arguing in seven vignettes shot in several long takes on a DV camera. The film deals with controversial topics such as divorce and homosexuality and has not yet received permission to be shown uncut in its native country. Bijan Daneshmand
Bijan Daneshmand (born 16 August 1958) is an Iranian born-English actor and artist based in London, England. He was born in Tehran, Iran, and was sent to England for his schooling at the age of 10. He was educated in England at Eastbourne College, Sussex, a graduate of King's College London, and trained for acting at the London Centre For Theatre Studies and Philippe Gaulier school, Paris. He has an MA Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts. Daneshmand's artworks have been exhibited in various shows in London, and he has appeared in a number of films and television productions. 61st Venice International Film Festival
The 61st annual Venice International Film Festival was held between 1 and 11 September 2004. The festival opened with Steven Spielberg's ''The Terminal'', and closed with Katsuhiro Otomo's '' Steamboy''. The Golden Lion was awarded to the film ''Vera Drake'', directed by Mike Leigh. Long Take
In filmmaking, a long take (also called a continuous take or continuous shot) is a shot with a duration much longer than the conventional editing pace either of the film itself or of films in general. Significant camera movement and elaborate blocking are often elements in long takes, but not necessarily so. The term "long take" should not be confused with the term "long shot", which refers to the distance between the camera and its subject and not to the temporal length of the shot itself. Iran's Family Protection Law

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Iran face severe legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Sexual activity between members of the same sex is illegal and can be punishable by up to death, and people can legally change their assigned sex only through a sex reassignment surgery. LGBT rights in Iran have come in conflict with the penal code since the 1930s. In post-revolutionary Iran, any type of sexual activity outside a heterosexual marriage is forbidden.
