2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup
The 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be the 20th tournament of the FIBA Basketball World Cup for men's national basketball teams. The tournament will be hosted in Qatar and will be the third to feature 32 teams. It will be the first FIBA Basketball World Cup to be held in the Arab world, and the third straight to be held in Asia after the 2019 tournament in China and the 2023 edition co-hosted by the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia. Qatar will also be the third Muslim country to host after the 2010 edition in Turkey and Indonesia in 2023. Germany will be the defending champions heading into the tournament, having beaten Serbia in the 2023 final. The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup final was the concluding basketball game which determined the winner of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Aspire Dome
The Aspire Dome is an indoor multi-purpose arena based in Qatar. It is located in the Aspire Academy in Doha and has the capacity to host 13 different sporting events simultaneously in a climate controlled arena, in addition to a full-sized indoor football pitch. The 2015 World Men's Handball Championship was the 24th staging of the World Men's Handball Championship, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The final tournament was held for the first time in Qatar, from 15 January to 1 February 2015.
