2023–24 Süper Lig
The 2023–24 Süper Lig, officially called the Trendyol Süper Lig 2023–24 season, is the 66th season of the Süper Lig, the highest tier football league of Turkey. The fixtures were announced on 18 July 2023 at 21:30 (UTC+3). On 12 December 2023 it was announced that the league was suspended indefinitely following Ankaragücü president Faruk Koca's punching of referee Halil Umut Meler after their home match against Çaykur Rizespor. Teams A total of 20 teams contest the league, including 17 sides from the 2022–23 season and 2022–23 TFF First League champions Samsunspor, runners-up Rizespor and play-off winners Pendikspor. Rizespor immediately returned to top level and Pendikspor is competing in the Süper Lig for the first time in their history. Samsunspor returned to top level after 11 years. Süper Lig
The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. In the 2022–23 season, nineteen clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and relegated to the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. The competition was initially established in 1923. The league succeeded the Turkish Football Championship and the National Division, both being former top-level national competitions. The Süper Lig is currently 20th in the UEFA coefficient ranking of leagues based on club performances in European competitions over the last five years. Sivasspor Kulübü, known as Demir Grup Sivasspor due to sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish sports club based in Sivas. The primary department of the club is men's football. Formed in 1967, its football department competes in Süper Lig, as of 2017–18 season. Konyaspor Kulübü (, Konya Sports Club) is a Turkish professional football club based in Konya. They are better known as Konyaspor. In 1922 Konyaspor were founded with the name Konya Gençlerbirliği and have played at their current home stadium, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium, since 2014. Antalyaspor Kulübü is a Turkish professional football club located in the city of Antalya. The club's colours are red and white. They play their home matches at the Antalya Stadium.
