2023–24 Copa Del Rey
The 2023–24 Copa del Rey is the 122nd staging of the Copa del Rey (including two seasons where two rival editions were played). The winners are assured a place in the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League league stage. Both the winners and the runners-up will qualify for the four-team 2024–25 Supercopa de España. Real Madrid were the defending champions, having beaten Osasuna in the final of the previous edition, but were eliminated in the round of 16 by Atlético Madrid. The final will be held at La Cartuja in Seville on 6 April 2024. As across Spain, match times up to 28 October 2023 and from 27 March 2024 are CEST (UTC+2). Copa Del Rey
The Campeonato de España–Copa de Su Majestad el Rey, commonly known as Copa del Rey or simply La Copa and formerly known as Copa del Presidente de la República (1932–36) and Copa del Generalísimo (1939–76), is an annual knockout football competition in Spanish football, organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The competition was founded in 1903, thus making it the oldest Spanish football competition played at a national level. It is considered one of the most prestigious ''national cup'' trophies in the world. Copa del Rey winners qualify for the following season's UEFA Europa League. Seed (sports)
A seed is a competitor or team in a sport or other tournament who is given a preliminary ranking for the purposes of the draw. Players/teams are "planted" into the bracket in a manner that is typically intended so that the best do not meet until later in the competition, usually based on regular season. 2023 Copa Federación De España
The 2023 Copa Federación de España was 31st edition of the Copa Federación de España, also known as Copa RFEF, a knockout competition for Spanish football clubs. The competition began in August with the first games of the Regional stages and ended 22 November with the final of the National tournament. As part of the new competition format started in 2019, the four semifinalists qualified for the Copa del Rey first round. 2022–23 Tercera Federación
The 2022–23 Tercera Federación season was the second for Tercera Federación, the national fifth level in the Spanish football league system. It consisted of 18 groups with 16 teams each. Competition format *The group champions were promoted to 2023–24 Segunda Federación. *The champion of each group qualified for 2023–24 Copa del Rey. If the champion was a reserve team, the first non-reserve team qualified joined the Copa. The 2022–23 Segunda Federación season will be the second for the Segunda Federación, the new fourth highest level in the Spanish football league system. Ninety teams will participate, divided into five groups of eighteen clubs each based on geographical proximity. In each group, the champions automatically promoted to Primera Federación, and the second to fifth placers will play promotion play-offs. The last five teams in each group will be relegated to the Tercera Federación; in addition, the four worst teams classified 13th in their group will play play-offs to define the last two relegation places. The 2024 Copa del Rey final was a football match to decide the winners of the 2023–24 Copa del Rey, the 122nd edition of Spain's primary football cup (including two seasons where two rival editions were played). The match was played on 6 April 2024 at Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville between Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca. Mallorca played in their first final since their only victory in 2003, having lost twice prior. This was Athletic Bilbao's 40th final, having last appeared in the final in 2021, and its last victory was in 1984. Two-legged Tie
In sports (particularly association football), a two-legged tie is a contest between two teams which comprises two matches or "legs", with each team as the home team in one leg. The winning team is usually determined by aggregate score, the sum of the scores of the two legs.
