2023–24 Atlanta Hawks Season
The 2023–24 Atlanta Hawks season was the 75th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and 56th in Atlanta. It is the first full season under new head coach Quin Snyder. The Hawks made it to their fourth straight postseason appearance and third straight play-in berth, as the No. 10 seed. Their season ended with a loss in the East 9/10 game to the Chicago Bulls, 131–116. They became the first team to qualify for postseason and win the NBA Draft Lottery without a trade, as NBA rules state that the four teams eliminated in the first stage of postseason (play-in) participate in the Draft Lottery. Quin Snyder
Quin Price Snyder (born October 30, 1966) is an American basketball coach who most recently served as the head coach for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After being named a McDonald's All American as a high school player in Washington, he played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils. He was the head coach of the Jazz for eight seasons, and known for being an offensive minded tactician. Early life Snyder was born in Mercer Island, Washington, and graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1985. A two-time state basketball player of the year, Snyder led the team to the 1985 state championship. During this time Mercer Island achieved a No. 1 ranking in USA Today's high school polls. Trae Young
Rayford Trae Young (born September 19, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners. In 2017, he tied the then-record in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I single-game assists with 22. Young became the only player to ever lead the NCAA in both points and assists in a single season. Clint N'Dumba Capela (born May 18, 1994) is a Swiss professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is the Hawks' franchise leader in career field-goal percentage, having led the NBA in the same field during the 2017–18 season. He is the highest-earning team athlete in Switzerland's history. Landon Trent Forrest (born June 12, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League. They entered the season coming off a championship win in the NBA Summer League. The Cavaliers clinched a playoff berth on April 12, following a 129–120 win over the Indiana Pacers. In the playoffs, they beat the Orlando Magic in seven games in the first round, advancing to the semifinals for the first time without LeBron James since drafting him. NBA G League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. Ekpedeme Friday "Ekpe" Udoh ( ; born May 20, 1987) is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player for Shimane Susanoo Magic of the Japanese B.League. Ronald Nored (born March 1, 1990) is an American basketball coach, currently an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Antonio Maurice Lang (born May 15, 1972) is an American former professional basketball player who currently serves as an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Igor Stefan Kokoškov ( sr-Cyrl, Игор Стефан Кокошков; born December 17, 1971) is a Serbian professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Brittni Donaldson (born April 7, 1993 in Sioux City, Iowa) is an Assistant Coach / Director of Coaching Analytics for the Detroit Pistons of the NBA.
