The 2023 Tour of Austria (german: Österreich-Rundfahrt 2023) is a road cycling stage race that took place between 2 and 6 July 2023 in Austria. The race was rated as a category 2.1 event on the 2023 UCI Europe Tour calendar, and was the 72nd edition of the Tour of Austria. 2023 UCI Europe Tour
The 2023 UCI Europe Tour was the nineteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points were awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Ybbs An Der Donau
Ybbs an der Donau () (short: Ybbs) is a town in Austria. It was established in 1317. Throughout the town, from the intersection of the important trade routes and along the Danube the town has preserved a site that already had great economic importance during the Middle Ages. Toponymy The valley of the Ybbs river is called: ''Ybbs Valley'', or ''Ybbs Field'' (german: Ybbsfeld). History In 788, Ybbs Field (german: Ybbsfeld) was the site of a battle, between Franks and Avars. Stage 5
Stage 5 (or, originally, "Stage V") is an unofficial stage at the Walnut Valley Festival, an annual bluegrass festival in Winfield, Kansas, United States. Set up in the Pecan Grove campground, the informal stage began in 1987 when camper Russell Brace and friends built it on the back of a 1954 Chevrolet 4100 1-1/2 ton flatbed truck. The stage is so-named because the festival proper has four main stages. The stage was immediately popular and is now a cherished tradition at the annual event. Audiences at Stage 5 can usually expect to hear typical acoustic string instruments. However, many musicians, while there, part from traditional bluegrass styles and emphasize a looser, more rock-oriented interpretation of roots music. Several notables have played Stage 5. Steyr
Steyr (; Central Bavarian: ''Steia'') is a statutory city, located in the Austrian federal state of Upper Austria. It is the administrative capital, though not part of Steyr-Land District. Steyr is Austria's 12th most populated town and the 3rd largest city in Upper Austria. Alpendorf
Alpendorf (German for ''alpine village'') is a village and a part of the town St. Johann im Pongau. It is south of the Austrian city of Salzburg. It is at an altitude of above sea level. It is away from the town centre of Sankt Johann im Pongau, a large town dominated by the Cathedral of Pongau. The economy is largely dependent on tourism, particularly during the winter months when thousands of predominantly German, Danish and Dutch skiers visiting the village. The resort is popular with members of the British and American forces based in Germany. There are also a significant number of English and Welsh schools visiting the area. Accommodation The resort is largely made up of four- and five-star hotels with wellness areas and restaurants. Sillian
Sillian is a market town in the district of Lienz, in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Geography The municipality, at a height of about , is the main settlement in the East Tyrolean '' Hochpustertal'', the eastern part of the Puster Valley, stretching from Lienz up to the border with South Tyrol, Italy in the west.
