2023 Indiana Fever Season
The 2023 Indiana Fever season was the franchise's 24th season in the Women's National Basketball Association, and their first season under new head coach Christie Sides. The Fever named Sides their new head coach on November 4, 2022. She previously spent two seasons in Indiana as an assistant coach from 2018 to 2019. The Fever won the 2023 WNBA Draft Lottery and were awarded the first overall pick for the first time in franchise history. The Fever started the season slowly going 1–3 in May, with their one win coming against Atlanta. The Fever showed improvement in June, finishing the season 4–7. However, they won four of six games in the middle of the month and took Chicago to overtime. WNBA Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. Since 2016, the league has abandoned separate conference playoffs in favor of a single league-wide playoff bracket. Chelsey Perry (born June 7, 1999) is an American basketball player who is currently a free agent. She played college basketball at UT Martin. Early life Perry attended Middleton High School in Middleton, Tennessee. Perry was named a TSWA Class A All-State Honoree twice. Maya Caldwell (born December 15, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Indiana Fever of the Women's National Basketball Association, Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball at Georgia Bulldogs women's basketball, Georgia. Lin Dunn
Lin Dunn (born May 10, 1947) is an American women's basketball coach, currently general manager with the Indiana Fever. She is most known for being the first coach and general manager for the Seattle Storm. She has more than 500 wins to her name. A native of Dresden, Tennessee, Dunn graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1969. She coached for decades in the college ranks, amassing a 447-257 record in 25 seasons as a college head coach. The Atlanta Dream are an American professional basketball team based in Atlanta, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
