The 2023 Grand Prix La Marseillaise was the 44th edition of the Grand Prix La Marseillaise cycle race. It was held on 29 January 2023 as a category 1.1 race on the 2023 UCI Europe Tour. The race started in Marseille and finished in Septèmes-les-Vallons. The race was won by Neilson Powless of in a solo victory after attacking the leading breakaway of nine before ascending the final climb, Col de la Gineste. 2023 UCI Europe Tour
The 2023 UCI Europe Tour was the nineteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points were awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Lenny Martinez (born 11 July 2003) is a French professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is the son, grandson and nephew of former racing cyclists Miguel, Mariano and Yannick Martinez respectively. Career On 16 July 2022 during stage 4 of the Giro della Valle d'Aosta Martinez along with teammate Reuben Thompson were the last men standing from the group of favorites. Neilson Powless (born September 3, 1996) is an American professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Powless, who is Oneida, is the first US Native American to compete in the Tour de France. Career In August 2019, he was named in the startlist for the 2019 Vuelta a España. Powless, along with Jumbo-Visma teammates Robert Gesink, George Bennett and Sepp Kuss, each finished between 27th and 33rd in the overall standings en route to assisting Primož Roglič in winning the race.
