2023 First Responder Bowl
The 2023 First Responder Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 26, 2023, at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in University Park, Texas. The 14th annual First Responder Bowl featured the Texas State Bobcats of the Sun Belt Conference and the Rice Owls of the American Athletic Conference (The American). The game began at approximately 4:30 p.m. CST and was aired on ESPN. It was one of the 2023–24 bowl games concluding the 2023 FBS football season. Sponsored by cleanup and restoration company Servpro, the game was officially known as the Servpro First Responder Bowl. Ismail Mahdi (born May 28, 2003) is a Kenyan American football running back for the Texas State Bobcats. Mahdi began his college career with Houston Christian before transferring to Texas State in 2023. Early life and high school career Mahdi was born on May 28, 2003, in a refugee camp in Kenya. In late 2003, Mahdi and his family would migrate to the United States, residing in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Mahdi attended Plano East Senior High School in Plano, Texas. As a junior, he totaled 1,607 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a senior, Mahdi rushed for 1,362 yards and 14 touchdowns, before his season was ended due to a knee injury. 2023 SMU Mustangs Football Team
The 2023 SMU Mustangs football team represented Southern Methodist University in the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Mustangs played their home games at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in University Park, Texas, a separate city within the city limits of Dallas, and competed in the American Athletic Conference (The American). The Rice Owls football program represents Rice University in the sport of American football. The team competes at the NCAA Division I FBS level and compete in the American Athletic Conference. Texas State Bobcats Football
The Texas State Bobcats football program Texas State University in college football at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level. They play in the Sun Belt Conference. The program began in 1904 and has an overall winning record. The program has a total of 14 conference titles, nine of them being outright conference titles. Home games are played at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, Texas.
