2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Group A
Group A of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup was one of eight groups that form the opening round of the tournament with the matches played from 20 to 30 July 2023. The group consisted of hosts New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines and Switzerland. The top two teams, Switzerland and Norway, advanced to the round of 16. New Zealand thus became the first FIFA Women's World Cup host country to be eliminated in the group stage, and it was also the sixth consecutive exit in which New Zealand had failed to advance past the group stage. While this was the fifth time Norway finished second in a Women's World Cup group, this was Switzerland's first experience of topping a group in the tournament's history. 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup
The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup is scheduled to be the ninth edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup competition, the quadrennial international women's football championship contested by the women's national association football teams organised by FIFA. The tournament will be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand, the first time that the FIFA Women's World Cup will have two host nations and is scheduled to take place from 20 July to 20 August 2023. This will be the first senior World Cup of either gender to be held between two confederations. 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup
The 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup was the 20th edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup, the quadrennial international women's football tournament in Asia competed by the national teams in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). India was selected as the host nation by the AFC Women's Football Committee in June 2020. It was the first time that the country hosted the competition since 1979. On 28 January 2021, the AFC confirmed that the tournament would take place between 20 January and 6 February 2022, instead of the original scheduled dates of late October and early November. Rebekah Ashley Stott (born 17 June 1993) is a New Zealand footballer who plays for Brighton & Hove Albion in the English FA Women's Super League. She is a defender for the New Zealand women's national football team. Victoria Lucy Esson (born 6 March 1991) is a New Zealand association football goalkeeper, currently playing for Rangers and represents New Zealand at international level.
