2023 FAI Cup Final
The 2023 FAI Cup Final, known as the 2023 Sports Direct FAI Cup Final for sponsorship reasons, was the final match of the 2023 FAI Cup, the national association football cup of the Republic of Ireland. The match took place on Sunday 12 November at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, between Bohemians and St Patrick's Athletic. St Patrick's Athletic won 3–1 to win their fifth FAI Cup and qualify for the second qualifying round of the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League. The final set the record as the highest-attended FAI Cup final at 43,881, breaking the 1945 record of 41,238. The attendance was also a new record for a domestic game. 2023 FAI Cup
The 2023 FAI Cup, known as the Sports Direct FAI Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 103rd edition of the Republic of Ireland's primary national cup competition. It featured teams from the League of Ireland Premier Division and the First Division, as well as non-league teams. The competition began with qualifying on 7 April 2023 and concluded with the final on 12 November 2023 in the Aviva Stadium. The winners qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League. St Patrick's Athletic won the cup on 12 November after a 3–1 win over Bohemians in the final, it was their fifth FAI Cup win. Strokestown Road, currently known as Bishopsgate for sponsorship purposes, is the name of a football stadium in Longford, Ireland which is the home of League of Ireland club Longford Town. History In the mid-1990s, Longford Town moved their home ground from Abbeycartron to the townland of Mullolagher just off the N5 road between Longford and Tarmonbarry. It is one of the few League of Ireland grounds which is owned by the club itself. The stadium underwent a huge redevelopment at the end of 2000–01 season. Chris Forrester
Christopher Stephen Forrester (born 17 December 1992) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for St Patrick's Athletic in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Adam Murphy (born 8 April 2005) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for League of Ireland Premier Division club St Patrick's Athletic. Club career Youth career Murphy began playing with his local side Donnycarney United before moving to top Dublin academy Belvedere where he played from U8 to U15 level where he impressed League of Ireland club St Patrick's Athletic to sign him in January 2020. Jack Brady (17 December 1996) is an Irish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Early life Brady was born in Dublin on 17 December 1996. Brady was educated at St Anne's Community College in Killaloe. Club career Brady spent his youth years at Dublin clubs St. Kevin's Boys, and Shelbourne F.C.
