2023 Campeonato Catarinense
The 2023 Campeonato Catarinense (officially the Catarinense Fort Atacadista 2023 for sponsorship reasons) is the 98th season of Santa Catarina's top-flight football league organized by FCF. The season began on 14 January and ended on 8 April 2023. The finals were played between Criciúma and the defending champions Brusque. Criciúma won 2–0 on aggregate and clinched their 11th title. Format The tournament was contested between 12 teams, who first played in a single round-robin tournament. In the first stage, the bottom two teams were relegated to the 2024 Série B. The final stage was played on a home-and-away two-legged basis. Champions and runners-up qualified for the 2024 Copa do Brasil, while three teams qualified for the 2024 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D. The Campeonato Catarinense de Futebol, known as Campeonato Catarinense or simply Catarinense, is the main competition of association football from state of Santa Catarina, in Brazil. History The Campeonato Catarinense top level has had several different names since it started. From its first edition, in 1924, to 1985, it was called just Campeonato Catarinense (Santa Catarina Championship). From 1986 to 2003, it was named Campeonato Catarinense Primeira Divisão (Santa Catarina Championship Premier Division). Concórdia is a city in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. It was founded by colonizers of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, basically descendants of Italians and Germans, who immigrated to Brazil in the 19th century. Argel Fuchs
Argélico Fuchs (born Argélico Fucks; 4 September 1974) is a Brazilian professional football coach and former player. His professional career as a central defender spanned 15 years, during which he was mainly associated with Benfica and Internacional. He also played in Japan, Spain and China, and appeared in one international match for Brazil. Fuchs started working as a coach in 2008, going on to be in charge of more than 20 clubs. Antônio Lopes dos Santos Júnior (born 22 November 1973), known as Júnior Lopes, is a Brazilian football coach. He is the current head coach of Camboriú. Career Born in Rio de Janeiro, Lopes began his career with Botafogo, being an assistant of the club's youth setup, in 1996. In 1998, he moved to cross-town rivals Vasco da Gama, under the same role. In 2000 Lopes and his father joined the Brazil national team, with him being appointed assistant of the under-17s. Camboriú
Camboriú is a Municipalities of Brazil, municipality in the states of Brazil, state of Santa Catarina (state), Santa Catarina in the South Region, Brazil, South region of Brazil, near Balneario Camboriu, a popular beach destination. Toponym The toponym "Camboriú" is a reference to the Camboriú River. Luiz Júnior de Souza Lopes (born 8 October 1981), known as Luizinho Lopes, is a Brazilian football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. He is the current head coach of Vila Nova. Career Born in Pau dos Ferros, Rio Grande do Norte, Lopes was an América de Natal youth graduate, and went on to feature in the first team squad for three years before leaving. Balneário Camboriú () is a coast beach city in the Brazilian southern state of Santa Catarina. The city, with its steep hills dropping down to the sea, is popular amongst South Americans.
