2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B
The 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B (officially the Brasileirão Série B Betano 2023 for sponsorship reasons) is a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the second division. The competition began on 14 April and will end on 25 November. Twenty teams compete in the tournament, twelve returning from the 2022 season, four promoted from the 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C (ABC, Botafogo-SP, Mirassol and Vitória), and four relegated from the 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (Atlético Goianiense, Avaí, Ceará and Juventude). The top four teams will be promoted to the 2024 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série B is commonly referred to as the Brasileirão Série B (Série B), and until 2022 was officially called Brasileirão Sportingbet by sponsorship reasons. It is the second tier of the Brazilian football league system. Although not having been played annually since its founding in 1971, the competition format has changed almost every season. The 2024 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A will be the 68th season of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top level of professional football in Brazil, and the 21st edition in a double round-robin since its establishment in 2003.
