2023 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2023 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament was a postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big 12 Conference. It was played from March 8 to 11 in Kansas City, Missouri at the T-Mobile Center. Texas won the tournament to earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The tournament was sponsored by Phillips 66. Seeds All ten teams will participate in the tournament. It will be the final season with the 10 team bracket format as the Big 12 will expand to 14 teams for the 2023–24 season before going to 12 in 2024–25 with the departures of Oklahoma and Texas. The top six teams will receive a first-round bye. Teams are seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center) is a multi-purpose arena in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. It is located at the intersection of 14th Street and Grand Boulevard on the east side of the Power & Light District. 2022–23 Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represented Iowa State University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cyclones were coached by T. J. Otzelberger in his second season as head coach, and 10th season at Iowa State. They played their home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa as members of the Big 12 Conference. Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament
The Big 12 men's basketball tournament (known since its inception in 1997 under sponsorship agreements as the Phillips 66 Big 12 men's basketball tournament) is the championship men's basketball tournament in the Big 12 Conference. It is a single-elimination tournament of four rounds, with the top six seeds getting byes in the first round. Seeding is based on regular season records. The winner of the tournament receives the Big 12 Conference automatic bid to the NCAA Championship tournament. Between 2005 and 2019, no current Big 12 member besides Iowa State or Kansas won the tournament, and those two schools have won 16 of 24 titles. The remaining current Big 12 schools only account for six additional tournament titles. Marcus Joshua Carr (born June 6, 1999) is a Canadian professional basketball player for Aris Thessaloniki of the Greek Basket League and the EuroCup. He previously played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns of the Big 12 Conference, as well as the Pittsburgh Panthers and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The 2022–23 Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball team represented Texas Tech University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season as a member of the Big 12 Conference. The Red Raiders were led by second-year coach Mark Adams. They played their home games at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.
