2022–23 Saint Mary's Gaels Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Saint Mary's Gaels men's basketball team represented Saint Mary's College of California during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by head coach Randy Bennett in his 22nd season at Saint Mary's. The Gaels played their home games at the University Credit Union Pavilion in Moraga, California, as members of the West Coast Conference (WCC). They finished the season 27–8, 14–2 in WCC Play to finish a tie for 1st place. They defeated BYU in the semifinals of the WCC Tournament before losing to Gonzaga in the championship game. Randy Bennett
Randall William Bennett (born June 9, 1962) is an American college basketball coach and the current head men's basketball coach at Saint Mary's College of California. He led the team to several second-place finishes and seven NCAA tournament appearances, culminating in regular season conference championships in 2011, 2012 and 2016 as well as WCC tournament championships in 2010, 2012 and 2019. Early life and college playing career Born in Mesa, Arizona, Bennett graduated from Westwood High School in Mesa and began his collegiate career at Mesa Community College, playing under his father Tom from 1980 to 1982. Tommy Kuhse
Tommy Kuhse (born January 5, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for Derthona Basket of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). He played five seasons of college basketball at Saint Mary's before going undrafted in the 2022 NBA draft. Early life Kuhse attended Mountain View High School in Mesa, Arizona, where he was a member of the varsity baseball and basketball teams. Kuhse stopped playing baseball after his junior season and shifted his focus entirely to basketball. During his junior and senior seasons, Kuhse was named second-team all-state. Matthias Tass (born 23 March 1999) is an Estonian college basketball player for Baxi Manresa of the Liga ACB. Standing at 2.08 m (6 ft 10 in), he plays at the power forward and center positions. 2021–22 UCLA Bruins Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 UCLA Bruins men's basketball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I season. The 2021–22 Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team represented Indiana University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.
