2022–23 North Florida Ospreys Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 North Florida Ospreys men's basketball team represented the University of North Florida in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Ospreys, led by 14th-year head coach Matthew Driscoll, played their home games at the UNF Arena in Jacksonville, Florida as members of the ASUN Conference. Previous season The Ospreys finished the 2021–22 season 11–20, 7–9 in ASUN play to finish in fifth place in the East Division. In the ASUN tournament, they were defeated by Lipscomb in the first round. Matthew Driscoll (basketball)
Matthew Driscoll () is an American college basketball coach who is currently head coach of the University of North Florida Ospreys. Before coming to UNF, Driscoll spent twelve years as an assistant at Baylor University, Valparaiso University, Clemson University and the University of Wyoming. In a May 2008 Fox Sports survey of his peers, Driscoll was rated as one of the top 10 assistants in the country. Career A native of Pittsburgh, Driscoll is a 1992 graduate of Slippery Rock University. From 1993 to 1997, he was the head coach at LaRoche College in Pittsburgh. He is a board member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and a former president. His first stint as a Division I assistant was the 1997–98 season under Larry Shyatt for the Wyoming Cowboys, which resulted in a trip to the NIT. Southwest Mississippi Community College is a public community college in Summit, Mississippi. History The college was officially started in 1908 as an agricultural high school. The Pike County Agricultural High School opened on September 3, 1918, after receiving approval from the Pike County School Board the previous April. The high school began to incorporate college work into the curriculum in 1929 and by 1932 the school had become a junior college. Shallotte is a town in Brunswick County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 3,675 at the 2010 census. The Shallotte River passes through the town. History Shallotte was incorporated as a town in 1899. A former Hardee's restaurant, located on Main Street, was used as a filming location for the robbery scene in the Melissa McCarthy film '' Tammy''.
