2022–23 Independence Cup (Bangladesh)
The 2022–23 Independence Cup, also known as Bashundhara Group Independence Cup 2022 due to the sponsorship from Bashundhara Group. It was the 12th edition of the Independence Cup, the oldest official club football tournament in Bangladesh. A total of 16 teams were contested in the tournament including two coming through qualifying round. Bashundhara Kings is the defending champion. They have won the title by beating Sheikh Russel KC by 2(4)−2(1) penalties shoot out on 5 December 2022. Participating teams The following sixteen teams will contest in the tournament. Venues The matches are being played at these three venues across the country. Draw The draw ceremony were held on 31 October 2022 at 3rd floor of BFF house Motijheel, Dhaka. Independence Cup (Bangladesh)
Independence Cup is a cup competition in men's association football. The competition started in 1972 and is run by the Bangladesh Football Federation, which is responsible for all types of competitive matches in the country. The teams from the country's Bangladesh Premier League (football), premier league and other clubs compete in the tournament. BFF Elite Football Academy
BFF Elite Football Academy is a Bangladeshi youth development football academy based on Dhaka, Bangladesh. Established in 2021, it is operated by the Bangladesh Football Federation, with the goal of developing young players for the future and nurturing young Bangladeshi talents. The academy team participates in Bangladesh Championship League, country’s second tier football league. However, they will not be subject to promotion or relegation regardless of their position in the points table of the league. History The academy started with 51 under-15 footballers in September, 2021. The players were selected through nationwide trial. The current age level of the academy is under-18.
