2022–23 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League
The 2022–23 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, also known as Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (for sponsorship reasons), is the ninth edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that is being held in Bangladesh. It is being played by the 12 club teams. The tournament started on 15 March 2023. All the matches are being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan cricket grounds, BKSP grounds and Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium. The group phase of the tournament will continue until Eid al-Fitr, while the Super League will begin after the Eid break. In February 2023, the CCDM introduced three new awards for this edition: Player of the Tournament, Highest Run-Scorer and Highest Wicket-Taker, with a prize money of ৳2 lakh for each. Bangladesh Cricket Board
The Bangladesh Cricket board ( bn, বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড; abbreviated as BCB) is the governing body of cricket in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Cricket Board first became an associate member of the International Cricket Council in 1977 and on June 26, 2000 became a Full Member. City Club are a Bangladeshi cricket team that plays List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. They are based in Mirpur. City Club were promoted to List A status for the first time for the 2021–22 tournament, along with Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club. They played their first match against Prime Bank Cricket Club on 15 March 2022, losing by 50 runs; seven of the team, including the captain, Jawad Royen, were playing their first List A match. Pinak Ghosh (born 20 January 1999) is a first-class cricketer from Bangladesh. In December 2015 he was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In December 2017, he was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The 2023–24 Dhaka First Division Cricket League is a 2023–24 season of Dhaka First Division Cricket League. This is a 50 over cricket competition that is being held in Bangladesh. Net Run Rate
Net run rate (NRR) is a statistical method used in analysing teamwork and/or performance in cricket. It is the most commonly used method of ranking teams with equal points in limited overs league competitions, similar to goal difference in football. The NRR in a single game is the average runs per over that team scores, minus the average runs per over that is scored against them. The NRR in a tournament is the average runs per over that a team scores across the whole tournament, minus the average runs per over that is scored against them across the whole tournament. This is the same as the weighted average of the run rates scored in each match (weighted by the lengths of the innings batted compared to the other innings batted), minus the weighted average of the run rates conceded in each match (weighted by the lengths of the innings bowled compared to the other innings bowled). Mohammad Ashraful ( bn, মোহাম্মদ আশরাফুল; born 7 July 1984) is a Bangladeshi cricketer, who has represented the Bangladesh national cricket team, captaining the team in all formats of the game. A top-order batsman with a penchant for flashy stroke-play, Ashraful became the youngest cricketer to make a hundred in Test cricket, on his debut as a 17 year old in 2001, against Sri Lanka. Between 2007 and 2009, Ashraful captained his country in 13 Tests, and 38 One Day Internationals (ODIs) of which Bangladesh won eight. Shinepukur Cricket Club is a cricket team in Bangladesh. Before the 2016–17 season the Cricket Coaching School club defaulted on its player payments and was bought by Beximco, Bangladesh's largest conglomerate, and renamed Shinepukur Cricket Club, after Shinepukur Ceramics, a subsidiary of Beximco. Shinepukur Cricket Club were one of the twelve teams that took part in the 2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League tournament. Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club are a team that plays List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL). They are named after Rupganj in eastern Dhaka, and sponsored by the Gazi Group of companies, which also sponsors the DPL teams Gazi Tyres Cricket Academy and Gazi Group Cricketers. Rupganj Tigers were promoted to List A status for the first time for the 2021–22 tournament, along with City Club. Prime Bank Cricket Club, owned by Prime Bank Limited, plays List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier Division in Bangladesh. It won the tournament in 2014–15. The club also participated in the 2013–14 Victory Day T20 Cup and was crowned the champions. History Prime Bank Limited established its cricket club and associated cricket academy in 2012, when it bought the ownership rights of the Old DOHS Sports Club cricket team. When the Dhaka Premier Division resumed in 2013-14 after a one-season hiatus, with List A status for the first time, Prime Bank Cricket Club was one of the 12 competing teams.
