2022–23 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League
The 2022–23 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, also known as Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (for sponsorship reasons), is the ninth edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that is being held in Bangladesh. It is being played by the 12 club teams. The tournament started on 15 March 2023. All the matches are being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan cricket grounds, BKSP grounds and Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium. The group phase of the tournament will continue until Eid al-Fitr, while the Super League will begin after the Eid break. In February 2023, the CCDM introduced three new awards for this edition: Player of the Tournament, Highest Run-Scorer and Highest Wicket-Taker, with a prize money of ৳2 lakh for each. The Bangladesh Cricket board ( bn, বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড; abbreviated as BCB) is the governing body of cricket in Bangladesh. City Club are a Bangladeshi cricket team that plays List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. They are based in Mirpur. City Club were promoted to List A status for the first time for the 2021–22 tournament, along with Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club. Net run rate (NRR) is a statistical method used in analysing teamwork and/or performance in cricket. It is the most commonly used method of ranking teams with equal points in limited overs league competitions, similar to goal difference in football. The NRR in a single game is the average runs per over that team scores, minus the average runs per over that is scored against them. The NRR in a tournament is the average runs per over that a team scores across the whole tournament, minus the average runs per over that is scored against them across the whole tournament. Mohammad Ashraful ( bn, মোহাম্মদ আশরাফুল; born 7 July 1984) is a Bangladeshi cricketer, who has represented the Bangladesh national cricket team, captaining the team in all formats of the game. A top-order batsman with a penchant for flashy stroke-play, Ashraful became the youngest cricketer to make a hundred in Test cricket, on his debut as a 17 year old in 2001, against Sri Lanka. Shinepukur Cricket Club is a cricket team in Bangladesh. Before the 2016–17 season the Cricket Coaching School club defaulted on its player payments and was bought by Beximco, Bangladesh's largest conglomerate, and renamed Shinepukur Cricket Club, after Shinepukur Ceramics, a subsidiary of Beximco. Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club are a team that plays List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL). They are named after Rupganj in eastern Dhaka, and sponsored by the Gazi Group of companies, which also sponsors the DPL teams Gazi Tyres Cricket Academy and Gazi Group Cricketers. Rupganj Tigers were promoted to List A status for the first time for the 2021–22 tournament, along with City Club. Prime Bank Cricket Club, owned by Prime Bank Limited, plays List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier Division in Bangladesh. It won the tournament in 2014–15. The club also participated in the 2013–14 Victory Day T20 Cup and was crowned the champions.
