Minoo Majidi (1960 – 20 September 2022) was a 62-year-old Iranian woman who was killed by Iranian authorities during the September 2022 Iranian protests. Life Minoo Majidi was an Iranian woman of Kurdish ethnicity who was born in 1960 in a Yarsan family, in the city of Qasr-e Shirin. She lived in the city of Kermanshah with her husband and three children. Death Following the death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the Morality Police, a wave of anti-regime protests began in Saqqez —Mahsa Amini's place of birth and burial— which quickly spread across Iran and all around the world. Minoo Majidi was one of the protesters on the streets of Kermanshah who was shot and killed by the forces of the Islamic Republic on 20 September 2022. Shah Cheragh Massacre
The Shah Cheragh attack () was a terrorist attack that occurred on 26 October 2022 at Shah Cheragh mosque, a Shia pilgrimage site in Shiraz in southern Iran, in which at least 13 people were killed. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack. Iranian authorities condemned the attacks and accused the protestors of Mahsa Amini's death of paving the way for such attacks to occur. On 8 July 2023 two men were executed for their involvement in the attack. Evin Prison Fire
On 15 October 2022, starting around 10:00 local time, a series of incidents including a fire, explosions and automatic gun battles occurred in the Evin Prison in Tehran, Iran, continuing through to early morning 16 October 2022. At least eight inmates died, and 57 others were injured according to Iranian government sources. An IRIB reporter stated that 40 people had died and then corrected herself. Background Evin prison is located in a residential and commercial area known as Evin, next to the Saadat Abad district. 2022 Zahedan Massacre
The Zahedan massacre, also known as Bloody Friday (), was a series of violent crackdowns starting with protesters gathering and chanting in front of a police station near the Great Mosalla of Zahedan, Iran on 30 September 2022 leading to many casualties. Security forces opened fire on protesters, violently cracked down on protesters in Zahedan, and later opened fire on worshipers holding the Friday Prayers in the Jameh Mosque of Makki, leading to street clashes resulting in at least 96 protesters killed and 300 injured. The clashes were mainly in response to the alleged rape of a 15-year-old Baloch girl in June by Colonel Ebrahim Kouchakzai, the commander of the police force in Chabahar, and the 16 September 2022 death of Mahsa Amini following her arrest by the Guidance Patrol. Hijab
In modern usage, hijab ( ar, حجاب, translit=ḥijāb, ) generally refers to headcoverings worn by Muslim women. Many Muslims believe it is obligatory for every female Muslim who has reached the age of puberty to wear a head covering. While such headcoverings can come in many forms, hijab often specifically refers to a cloth wrapped around the head, neck and chest, covering the hair and neck but leaving the face visible. The term was originally used to denote a partition, a curtain, or was sometimes used for the Islamic rules of modesty.
