2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships – Women's 3000 Metres
The women's 3000 metres at the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships took place on 18 March 2022. Summary Dawit Seyaum came into the race as the world leader and only Meraf Bahta returned from the final 4 years ago. With nobody aggressively seeking the lead, Gabriela DeBues-Stafford, distinctive in her blue and yellow hair in support of Ukraine in time of war, found herself in front. She held that spot for four laps until Seyaum decided she wanted to up the pace. Amy-Eloise Markovc OLY (née Neale; born 5 August 1995) is a British middle- and long-distance runner. She won the gold medal in the 3000 metres at the 2021 European Indoor Championships. Selamawit Dagnachew Teferi (born 24 March 1994) is an Ethiopian-born Israeli Olympic runner. She qualified to represent Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the 5,000 meters.
