2022 Vuelta A España
The 2022 Vuelta a España was a three-week cycling race which took place in the Netherlands and Spain between 19 August and 11 September 2022. It was the 77th edition of the Vuelta a España and the third and final Grand Tour (cycling), grand tour of the 2022 in men's road cycling, 2022 men's road cycling season. The race started in Utrecht and finished in Madrid. In the third stage, the route briefly passed through Baarle-Hertog, in Belgium. The race was won by Belgium's Remco Evenepoel which was his first Grand Tour triumph. Teams Twenty-three teams participated in the 2022 Vuelta a España. All eighteen UCI WorldTeam, UCI WorldTeams were obliged to participate. 2022 UCI World Tour
The 2022 UCI World Tour was a series of races that included thirty-one road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2022 in men's road cycling, 2022 cycling season. The tour started with the 2022 UAE Tour, UAE Tour on 20 February, and concluded with the 2022 Il Lombardia, Il Lombardia on 8 October. Events The 2022 calendar was announced in the autumn of 2021. Cancelled events Due to COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19-related logistical concerns raised by teams regarding travel to Australia (including strict quarantine requirements), the Tour Down Under (18–23 January) and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race (30 January) were cancelled. On 8 June 2022, the Benelux Tour (29 August – 4 September) was cancelled due to a pressurised calendar. On 17 June 2022, the Tour of Guangxi (13–18 October) was also cancelled due to travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. 2022 Vuelta A España, Stage 1 To Stage 11
The 2022 Vuelta a España was the 77th edition of Vuelta a España, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The Vuelta began in Utrecht on 19 August, and Stage 11 from ElPozo Alimentación to Cabo de Gata occurred on 31 August. The race finished in Madrid on 11 September. Classification standings Stage 1 ;19 August 2022 – Utrecht (Netherlands) to Utrecht (Netherlands), ( TTT) This year's Vuelta started with a team time trial along the streets of Utrecht in Netherlands. This marked the first time since the opening stage of the 2019 Vuelta that a team time trial featured in a World Tour race. Pico Jano
Pico Jano is a mountain of Cantabria (northern Spain). Geography The mountain is part of the range dividing the valleys of rivers Deva and Quiviesa. Located between the municipalities of Camaleño and Vega de Liébana, both in Liébana, its highest point is occupied by a pillar used as trig point, whose base is at m. Irun
Irun ( es, Irún, eu, Irun) is a town of the Bidasoaldea region in the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Autonomous Community, Spain. Primož Roglič
Primož Roglič (; born 29 October 1989) is a Slovenian racing cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam . He started as a ski jumper and switched to cycling several years after an accident suffered at Planica. At the 2017 Tour de France, Roglič became the first Slovenian to win a stage. In September 2019, he won the Vuelta a España general classification, becoming the first Slovenian to win a Grand Tour competition. Laguardia, Álava
Laguardia ( eu, Guardia) is a town and municipality located in the southern province of Álava, in the north of Spain; it belongs to the region of Rioja Alavesa, in the Basque Autonomous Community. Sam Bennett (born 16 October 1990) is an Irish professional cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is a road sprinter who turned professional in 2011.
