2022 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2022 UCI Women's World Tour is a competition that includes twenty-five road cycling events throughout the 2022 women's cycling season. It is the seventh edition of the UCI Women's World Tour, the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition will begin with Strade Bianche on 5 March, and finishes with the Tour de Romandie Féminin on 9 October. Events The race calendar for the 2022 season was announced in June 2021, with twenty-four races initially scheduled – up from eighteen that were held in 2021. In September 2021, the Tour de Romandie Féminin was added to make a total of twenty-five races. The two Chinese races were cancelled in June 2022, making a total of twenty three races. UCI Women's World Tour
The UCI Women's World Tour is the premier annual female elite road cycling tour. History In order to increase the coverage of Women's cycling the UCI held a summit in December 2014 between the UCI Women’s Working Group and the UCI Women's teams. 2022 Ronde Van Drenthe (women's Race)
The 2022 Ronde van Drenthe was a Dutch road cycling one-day race that took place on 12 March 2022. It was the 15th edition of Ronde van Drenthe and the 2nd event of the 2022 UCI Women's World Tour. It was won by Lorena Wiebes in a sprint finish. Teams Eleven UCI Women's WorldTeams, seven UCI Women's Continental Teams, and the national Dutch team make up the twenty teams that will compete in the race. The 8th running of the Amstel Gold Race for Women, a women's cycling race in the Netherlands, was held on 10 April 2022, serving as the 7th event of the 2021 UCI Women's World Tour. Chantal van den Broek-Blaak (née Blaak; born 22 October 1989) is a Dutch road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . In 2017 she became world road race champion in Bergen, Norway. Career Junior career Van den Broek-Blaak was the Dutch national junior time trial champion in 2006 and 2007. She was European under-23 road race champion in 2009 and was also third in the Ronde van Drenthe race of the UCI Women's Road World Cup in that year. Professional career Van den Broek-Blaak began her professional career in 2008 with the Dutch and remained with them until they disbanded at the end of 2012, after which she raced for the US team for a year. Marianne Vos (; born 13 May 1987) is a Dutch multi-discipline cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . After winning a junior European and World Championship in road racing, she continued her success in senior cycling by becoming World Champion in cyclo-cross and road racing at the age of 19.
