The 2022 ToyotaCare 250 was the seventh stock car race of the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series, the 35th iteration of the event, and the first race of the Dash 4 Cash. The race was held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, in Henrico County, Virginia at Richmond Raceway, a 0.75 mile (1.21 km) permanent D-shaped oval. The Dash 4 Cash in this race consisted of A. J. Allmendinger, Austin Hill, Noah Gragson, and Sam Mayer, after they finished in the top 5 at Circuit of the Americas. The race was run over 250 laps. Ty Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing would win the race after passing his teammate, John Hunter Nemechek, on the last lap. This was Gibbs' seventh career xfinity series win, and his third of the season. Motor Racing Network (MRN) is a U.S. radio network that syndicates broadcasts of auto racing events, particularly NASCAR. MRN was founded in 1970 by NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr. and broadcaster Ken Squier, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of NASCAR. Its first broadcast was the 1970 Daytona 500. MRN is one of the two main radio broadcasters of the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series, covering events held at tracks owned by NASCAR, along with Pocono Raceway. Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is a Grade 1 FIA-specification motor racing track and facilities located within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Austin, Texas, in the United States. Sheldon M. Creed (born September 30, 1997) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro for Richard Childress Racing. He is a member of Drivers Edge Development, a driver development program for Chevrolet-affiliated racers. Born in Alpine, California, Creed grew up competing in short course off-road racing, winning championships in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) and Stadium Super Trucks (SST). International Race of Champions (IROC) was a North American auto racing competition, created by Les Richter, Roger Penske and Mike Phelps, promoted as an equivalent of an American motorsports All-Star Game. Despite its name, the IROC was primarily associated with North American, oval-track racing. Drivers raced identically-prepared stock cars set up by a single team of mechanics in an effort to make the race purely a test of driver ability. It was run with a small field of 12 invited drivers. It was created and developed in 1972 by David Lockton, the developer of the Ontario Motor Speedway, launched in 1973, with Mark Donohue being the first driver to win the championship in 1974.
