2022 Tour De La Provence
The 2022 Tour de la Provence was a road bicycle racing, road cycling stage race that took place between 10 and 13 February 2022 in the French Regions of France, region of Provence. The race was rated as a category UCI race classifications, 2.Pro event on the 2022 UCI ProSeries calendar, and was the seventh edition of the Tour de la Provence. Teams 11 of the 18 UCI WorldTeams, three UCI Professional Continental, UCI ProTeams, and three UCI Continental teams made up the 17 teams that participated in the race. Only six teams entered a full squad of seven riders each; eight teams entered six riders each, while the remaining three teams entered five riders each. In total, 105 riders started the race, of which 91 finished. 2022 UCI ProSeries ...
The 2022 UCI ProSeries is the third season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The original calendar consisted of 56 events, of which 30 are one-day races (1.Pro), and 26 are stage races (2.Pro). The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Arles
Arles (, , ; oc, label= Provençal, Arle ; Classical la, Arelate) is a coastal city and commune in the South of France, a subprefecture in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in the former province of Provence. A large part of the Camargue, the largest wetlands in France, is located on the territory of the commune, making it the largest commune in Metropolitan France in terms of geographic territory. Elia Viviani (born 7 February 1989) is an Italian professional Cycle sport, cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . On 10 May 2015, Viviani won his first Grand Tour stage victory at the 2015 Giro d'Italia, Giro d'Italia, winning stage 2 in a bunch sprint before Moreno Hofland and André Greipel. Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer
Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (, lit.: "Saint Marys of the Sea"; Provençal Occitan: ''Li Santi Mario de la Mar'') is the capital of the Camargue ( Provençal Occitan ''Camarga'') in the south of France. It is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department by the Mediterranean Sea. Its population is 2,144 (2019), though it can swell to 500,000 during the summer holidays. It covers the second-largest area of all communes in Metropolitan France, smaller only than that of neighbouring Arles. Geography The town is situated in the Rhône river delta, about 1 km east of the mouth of the Petit Rhône distributary. Istres
Istres (; Occitan: Istre) is a commune in southern France, some 60 km (38 mi) northwest of Marseille. It is in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, of which it is a subprefecture. Filippo Ganna (born 25 July 1996) is an Italian track and road cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is a five-time world champion in the individual pursuit, and has won a total of eight medals at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships. He also won the men's individual time trial at the 2020 and 2021 UCI Road World Championships, four stages in the 2020 Giro d'Italia and two stages in the 2021 Giro d'Italia. An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream.
