2022 Thailand Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2022 Thailand motorcycle Grand Prix (officially known as the OR Thailand Grand Prix) was the seventeenth round of the 2022 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram on 2 October 2022. The Grand Prix returned to Thailand after absences in and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Background Riders' entries In the MotoGP class, Joan Mir has not yet recovered from his ankle injury. The Suzuki Ecstar Team has decided to replace him in this Grand Prix with Danilo Petrucci, from the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship, and who until last year was racing in the premier class with the KTM of Team Tech3. Takaaki Nakagami skips this round to undergo surgery on his injured finger that he underwent during the Aragon round and is replaced by Tetsuta Nagashima in LCR Honda. Chang International Circuit
The Buriram International Circuit (known as Chang International Circuit (ช้าง อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล เซอร์กิต) for commercial purposes, but listed by its non-commercial name because of alcohol restrictions in some countries) is a motorsport race track in Buriram, Buriram Province, Thailand. The circuit was opened in 2014. This is the first FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A circuit in Thailand. is a Japanese Grand Prix motorcycle racer, competing in Moto3 for Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max. Takaaki Nakagami
is a Japanese Grand Prix motorcycle racer, competing for LCR Honda Idemitsu in MotoGP. He won the Japanese Road Race Championship 125cc class in 2006 and J-GP2 class in 2011. Career Early career Born in Chiba, Nakagami joined the Japanese Road Race Championship in the GP125 category in 2005 joining the Harc-Pro Honda Team finishing 13th as a rookie in the series. Danilo Carlo Petrucci (born 24 October 1990) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer who has competed in the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship with Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York. After losing his KTM ride in MotoGP at the end of the 2021 season, he entered the 2022 Dakar Rally with a Tech3 KTM rally raid 450 cc machine in January 2022.
