Marc-Andrea Hüsler defeated Holger Rune in the final, 6–4, 7–6(10–8) to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 Sofia Open. It was his first ATP Tour title, and he saved two match points en route, in his quarterfinal match against Kamil Majchrzak. Jannik Sinner was the two-time defending champion, but retired from his semifinal match against Rune. Marc-Andrea Hüsler (born 24 June 1996) is a Swiss tennis player. He has a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 51, achieved on 16 January 2023. In doubles, he achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 132 on 25 October 2021. He is currently the No. 1 Swiss player. Ričardas Berankis (; born June 21, 1990) is a Lithuanian professional tennis player. He is the first and only Lithuanian citizen (not counting Lithuanian American Vitas Gerulaitis) to enter the ATP top 50 rankings, making him the highest ranked Lithuanian tennis player of all time. Dušan Lajović ( sr-cyrl, Душан Лајовић; born 30 June 1990) is a Serbian professional tennis player. Lajović has won one singles and two doubles titles on the ATP Tour.
