2022 Rugby Europe Championship
The 2022 Rugby Europe Championship will be the 6th Rugby Europe Championship, the annual rugby union competition contested by the national teams of Georgia, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Russia and Spain, and the 52nd edition of the competition (including all its previous incarnations as the FIRA Tournament, Rugby Union European Cup, FIRA Nations Cup, FIRA Trophy and European Nations Cup). Georgia enter the tournament as defending champions. They topped the table after winning all of their matches in the 2021 tournament, claiming their 13th title and 10th Grand Slam as a result. This year's edition of the Rugby Europe Championship doubles as the second year of the 2023 Rugby World Cup qualifiers for the European region. NRCA Stadium
The National Rugby Centre Amsterdam, also known as NRCA Stadium, is a rugby stadium in Amsterdam. The complex is situated within the Sportpark de Eendracht in the district of Geuzenveld-Slotermeer. All international matches of the Netherlands national team are played at the NCRA, and the offices of the Netherlands Rugby Board (NRB) are at the complex. Plans for the National Rugby Centre Amsterdam (NRCA) were formed by the NRB in the eighties and nineties as the increasing interest in rugby grew so strong that the old offices in Bussum became impracticable. Candidates for a new national rugby center had included The Hague, Amersfoort and Amsterdam. After much deliberation and some lobbying, the location at Sportpark De Eendracht was finally selected. Victor Andreevitch Gresev (russian: Виктор Андреевич Гресев) (born Leningrad, now Saint Petersburg, 31 March 1986) is a Russian rugby union player who plays as a number eight. He played for Slava Moscow (2006-2008), and for VVA Saracens (2009-2011), where he won the Russian Championship, in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. He signed for London Wasps, where he stayed for 2011/12. Dick Muir
Dick John Muir (born 20 March 1965) is a South African former rugby union player, and now the interim head coach of Netherlands national rugby union team. Muir played for Natal for most of his career before moving to Western Province helping him to make his international debut for the Springboks in 1997. He won back-to-back Currie Cup titles with Natal in 1996 and a year later with Western Province in 1997. In 1998 he made his Stormers debut, where in late April 1999, Muir suffered a serious neck injury against the Auckland Blues which led to the centre retiring in mid May of that year. Playing career Muir made his test debut for the Springboks at the age of 32, against at Dall'Ara Stadium in Bologna, during the 1997 Springbok tour of Europe and scoring a try on debut. Mihai Macovei (born 29 October 1986) is a Romanian rugby union player. He plays in the flanker and occasionally number 8 position for French Pro D2 club Colomiers. Macovei also plays for Romania's national team the Oaks. Richard Andrew Robinson OBE (born 3 April 1964) is an English rugby union coach and retired player. He was the director of rugby at Bristol until November 2016. He is the former head coach of Scotland and England. From September 2019 to December 2022, he was the head coach of the Romania's national rugby team. Tomás Mourato Vermelho Mega Appleton (born 29 July 1993) is a Portuguese rugby union player. He plays as a wing and as a centre. He is studying to be a physician dentist.
