2022 Qatar Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2022 Qatar motorcycle Grand Prix was the first round of the 2022 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the Losail International Circuit in Lusail on 6 March 2022. Background Entries In MotoGP and Moto2 classes the riders and teams were the same as the season entry list with no additional stand-in riders for the race. In the premier class five drivers made their debuts in MotoGP: Remy Gardner and Raúl Fernández, respectively 2021 Moto2 World Champion and runner-up, Fabio di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi and Darryn Binder, who moves from Moto3 to MotoGP as Jack Miller did in 2015. Losail International Circuit
The Losail International Circuit or Lusail International Circuit (Arabic: حلبة لوسيل الدولية) is a motor racing circuit located just outside the city of Lusail, north of Doha, Qatar. Built in just under a year by 1,000 workers at the cost of million, the track opened in 2004, named Losail International Circuit, to the inaugural 2004 Qatar motorcycle Grand Prix, won by Sete Gibernau. Dennis Foggia (born 7 January 2001) is an Italian motorcycle rider who is scheduled to compete in the 2023 Moto2 World Championship, riding for Italtrans Racing Team. He previously competed in Moto3, becoming the 2021 runner-up. Career Early career Foggia made his debut in motorcycle racing at age 15, during the 2016 FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship, riding for the VR46 Riders Academy team, along with Celestino Vietti. The 2021 FIM Moto3 World Championship was a part of the 73rd F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. 2015 MotoGP World Championship
The 2015 FIM MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 67th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. The championship was won by Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo, racing for Movistar Yamaha Factory. It was his third and final world title in the MotoGP category, his fifth overall in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. The season had 18 races, beginning in Qatar and finishing in Valencia, which determined who would be world champion between Movistar Yamaha teammates Lorenzo and runner-up Valentino Rossi. Darryn Binder (born 21 January 1998) is a South African professional motorcycle racer set to compete in the 2023 Moto2 World Championship for Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP. Career Binder was born in Potchefstroom, South Africa. His older brother, Brad Binder, is also a professional motorcycle racer, and competed alongside Darryn in Moto3 in both 2015 and 2016. The 2021 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 73rd F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Remy Gardner won the world championship in the final race at Valencia. Remy Christopher Gardner (born 24 February 1998) is an Australian motorcycle racer, best known for winning the 2021 Moto2 World Championship with Red Bull KTM Ajo. He is the son of 1987 premier class world champion, Wayne Gardner.
