2022 Presidents Cup
The 2022 Presidents Cup was the 14th edition of the Presidents Cup golf competition, held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, from September 22–25, 2022. This was Quail Hollow's first time hosting the Presidents Cup. The matches were originally scheduled for fall 2021. The USA won the competition and retained the cup. Team qualification and selection Both teams have 12 players. United States team The United States team features the six players who have earned the most FedEx Cup points from the 2019 A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier through the 2022 BMW Championship. Six captain's picks were made on 7 September 2022. Quail Hollow Club
Quail Hollow Club is a country club and golf course in the southeastern United States, located in the Quail Hollow neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a private member club, founded by James J. Harris on April 13, 1959. The club hosted the Kemper Open on the PGA Tour from 1969 through 1979, and the senior tour's PaineWebber Invitational from 1983 through 1989. The PGA Tour returned to Quail Hollow in 2003 with the Wachovia Championship, now the Wells Fargo Championship, which has been held every year since except 2020 when it was cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Additionally the club hosted the 2017 PGA Championship and that year the Wells Fargo was held at Eagle Point in Wilmington, North Carolina. Im Sung-jae ( ko, 임성재; born 30 March 1998), also known as Sungjae Im, is a South Korean professional golfer. Im won twice and was Player of the Year on the 2018 Web.com Tour. LIV Golf () is a professional golf tour financed by the Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia. The name "LIV" refers to the Roman numerals for 54, the score if every hole on a par-72 course were birdied and the number of holes to be played at LIV events. Official World Golf Ranking
The Official World Golf Ranking is a system for rating the performance level of professional golfers. It was started in 1986. The rankings are based on a player's position in individual tournaments (i.e. not pairs or team events) over a "rolling" two-year period. New rankings are calculated each week. During 2018, nearly 400 tournaments on 20 tours were covered by the ranking system. All players competing in these tournaments are included in the rankings. In 2022, 23 tours factored into the world rankings. As well as being of general interest, the rankings have an additional importance, in that they are used as one of the qualifying criteria for entry into a number of leading tournaments. Kevin James Kisner (born February 15, 1984) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Early life Kisner was born in Aiken, South Carolina and attended South Aiken High School. Tom Hoge (; born May 25, 1989) is an American professional golfer. Amateur career Hoge was born in Statesville, North Carolina and grew up and still resides in Fargo, North Dakota.
