2022 San Diego Padres Season
The 2022 San Diego Padres season was the 54th season of the San Diego Padres franchise. The Padres play their home games at Petco Park as members of Major League Baseball's National League West Division. On December 2, 2021, Commissioner of Baseball Rob Manfred announced a lockout of players, following expiration of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the league and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA). On March 10, 2022, the MLB and MLBPA agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement, thus ending the lockout. Opening Day was played on April 7. William Scott Miller (born May 31, 1967) is an American Major League Baseball umpire who began his career in the American League in . Miller wears number 26. He has been a crew chief since the 2014 season. Early life Miller graduated from UCLA with a history degree in 1989. Nicolas James Lentz (born December 28, 1989) is an American umpire in Major League Baseball. He made his debut on April 20, 2016, in Miami. He wears number 59, which was most recently worn by former umpire Jon Byrne. During the 2016 season, Lentz umpired 105 MLB games, 24 as the home plate umpire. Lentz's first MLB ejection came on May 17, 2017, when he ejected St. Louis Cardinals' manager Mike Matheny. In July 2017, Lentz was the first base umpire for the Triple-A All-Star Game. Chadwick Jarrett Fairchild (born December 30, 1970) is an American umpire in Major League Baseball. John Francis Tumpane (born May 4, 1983) is an American Major League Baseball umpire wearing number 74. Umpiring career He made his major league umpiring debut on August 2, 2010. Scott Adam Barry (August 3, 1976) is currently an American umpire in Major League Baseball (MLB). Scott made his debut as an MLB reserve umpire in 2006, and 2011 was his first full-time season as an MLB umpire. He lives in Quincy, Michigan.
