2022 Mercan'Tour Classic
The 2022 Mercan'Tour Classic Alpes-Maritimes was the second edition of the Mercan'Tour Classic Alpes-Maritimes road cycling one day race, which took place in the titular department in southeastern France on 31 May 2022. It was rated as a category 1.1 race on the 2022 UCI Europe Tour. The race was won by Dane Jakob Fuglsang (), which was his first win since the 2020 Il Lombardia. 2022 UCI Europe Tour
The 2022 UCI Europe Tour was the eighteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2022 season began on 23 January 2022 with the Trofeo Luis Puig, Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969, and concluded on 16 October 2022 with the Chrono des Nations and the Veneto Classic. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Lenny Martinez (born 11 July 2003) is a French professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is the son, grandson and nephew of former racing cyclists Miguel, Mariano and Yannick Martinez respectively. Career On 16 July 2022 during stage 4 of the Giro della Valle d'Aosta Martinez along with teammate Reuben Thompson were the last men standing from the group of favorites. Matteo Jorgenson
Matteo Jorgenson (born July 1, 1999) is an American professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He had an active 2022 Tour de France and was involved in several breakaways including on stage 10. He finished fourth, a result he was not satisfied with. On stage 16 there was a large breakaway of nearly 30 riders and Jorgenson was among them. Late in the stage he was one of the final surviving riders and was in the process of chasing down the lead rider Hugo Houle. He crashed while rounding a sharp corner. Despite the crash he was still able to finish fourth on the stage. In the 2023 Tour de France, he was involved in a 14-man breakaway on stage 9. Louis Meintjes (born 21 February 1992) is a South African cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . He won the South African National Road Race Championships in 2014, and has finished 8th overall in the Tour de France, on 3 occasions in 2016, 2017 and 2022. 2020 Il Lombardia
The 2020 Il Lombardia was a one-day road cycling race that took place on 15 August 2020 in the Italian region of Lombardy. It was part of the 2020 UCI World Tour and was the 114th edition of Il Lombardia. The race was initially scheduled to take place on 10 October. The race was first rescheduled to 31 October with the May calendar update, and subsequently to 15 August with the June calendar update due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With around 50 kilometres to go, a select group, including defending champion Bauke Mollema and 2015 and 2017 winner Vincenzo Nibali, both of , broke away from the peloton.
