2022 Las Vegas Bowl
The 2022 Las Vegas Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 17, 2022, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. The 30th annual Las Vegas Bowl, the game featured Oregon State from the Pac-12 Conference and Florida from the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The game began at 11:35 a.m. PST and aired on ESPN. It was one of the 2022–23 bowl games concluding the 2022 FBS football season. Sponsored by roofing distribution company SRS Distribution, the game was officially known as the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl. Teams The Las Vegas Bowl featured the Florida Gators from the Southeastern Conference and the Oregon State Beavers from the Pac-12 Conference. This was the first meeting between the teams. This was the 19th bowl game appearance for Oregon State, and they entered with a bowl record of 11–7. Allegiant Stadium is a domed stadium located in Paradise, Nevada. It is the home stadium for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL), the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebels college football team, the Las Vegas Bowl, and the Vegas Kickoff Classic. The team first fielded an organized football team in 1893 and is a member of the Pac-12 Conference. Jonathan Smith has been the head coach since November 29, 2017. The 2009 Maaco Bowl Las Vegas was an NCAA-sanctioned Division I FBS post-season college football bowl game, in which the Brigham Young Cougars defeated the Oregon State Beavers 44–20. The game was played on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at 5 p.m. PST at 40,000-seat Sam Boyd Stadium, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in Whitney, Nevada, and was televised on ESPN. The 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season will be the 153rd season of college football in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at its highest level of competition, the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
