2022 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship
The 2022 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship was the 128th staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kilkenny County Board in 1887. The championship ran from 17 September to 16 October 2022. Ballyhale Shamrocks entered the championship as the defending champions and will be hoping to secure a fifth consecutive title. The final was played on 16 October 2022 at UPMC Nowlan Park in Kilkenny, between Ballyhale Shamrocks and James Stephens, in what was their first meeting in the final in three years. Ballyhale Shamrocks won the match by 1–21 to 2–11 to claim a record-equalling 20th championship title overall and a record-breaking fifth successive title. Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Kilkenny IHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Kilkenny County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by intermediate clubs in the county of Kilkenny in Ireland. It is the second tier overall in the entire Kilkenny hurling championship system. The Kilkenny Intermediate Championship was introduced in 1929 as a competition that would bridge the gap between the senior grade and the junior grade. The championship was suspended for over 30 years until the 1970s when it was reinstated. In its current format, the Kilkenny Intermediate Championship begins in September with a first round series of games comprising eight teams, while the four remaining teams receive byes to the quarter-final stage. Eoin Cody
Eoin Cody (born 12 September 2000) is a hurler who plays for Kilkenny Senior Championship club Ballyhale Shamrocks and at inter-county level with the Kilkenny senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a centre-forward. Playing career St. Kieran's College Cody first came to hurling prominence as a student at St. Kieran's College in Kilkenny. After lining out in different grades throughout the years, he eventually joined the college's senior team. In his first big game at college's level, Cody scored eight points from placed balls in a 1–14 to 1–11 defeat by Dublin North in the 2018 Leinster final. He was dropped from the starting fifteen for the subsequent All-Ireland final against Presentation College, Athenry, but collected a winners' medal after coming on as a substitute in the 5–19 to 3-16 extra-time victory. Clara GAA
Clara GAA ( ga, CLG Chláraigh) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in the small parish of Clara in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Focused mainly on hurling and camogie, the dominant sports in the county, Clara's greatest achievements to date are victories in the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship in 1986 2013, and in 2015 they secured their third title. Dicksboro is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Kilkenny City, Ireland. History Dicksboro GAA Club, founded in 1909. The club takes its name from Dicksboro townland, located next to Kilkenny Airport, the current ground is Palmerstown, to the west of the city. Erin's Own GAA (Kilkenny)
Erin's Own Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in 1885 and since then has been the main sporting organization in the Castlecomer area in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Erin's Own fielded teams in 11 different grades of hurling and in 7 grades of gaelic football in 2006, and is currently undertaking major development at its new ground, Canon Kearns Park. With a membership of about 20 adults and about 100 youths the club is in the enviable position of having two properties, the first, The Prince Grounds, in the town, and the second, Canon Kearns Park, on the outskirts of the town, towards Kilkenny.
